Now that the guy I married is getting his MBA, people seem to think I've become a Lady of Leisure who lunches at country clubs in a Chanel suit and perfect hair/makeup with other 'Real Housewives' types. Let me tell you, cleaning/cooking/laundry/paying bills on a miniscule student budget and dealing with a stressed-out husband is far from glamorous. Here are some things I've learned along the way that might make the transition a bit easier for others out there starting a new life in La-La Land.

Exhibiton Opening Party at the Fowler Museum
The Fowler Museum at UCLA is opening a new exhibit featuring 50 pieces of ornate women's apparel from southeastern Europe. RSVP by February 28th for the opening party next Saturday, March 9th, from 6-8:30pm, for a preview of the exhibit, music, beer, Croatian wine and light refreshments. You can also go there an hour early to attend the free lecture at 5pm and learn all about the customs & history of the European bride.
The exhibit runs through to July 14th and admission is always free at the Fowler (closed Mon/Tue, open 12-5pm Wed-Sun and until 8pm Thu).
